Ariana Grande is just days away from taking the stage during the VMA pre-show this Sunday. So, is the VMA pre-show performer feeling some jitters before this weekend?

“I’m so nervous and excited, but I get nervous. Super nerve-racking. I mean it’s just such an honor. I’m so excited though,” she told MTV News during “Live from MTV” on AllAccess.MTV.com, where she also talked about her Twitter kiss with Justin Bieber.

On August 25, she will be performing along with Artist to Watch nominee Austin Mahone. She’ll put a specially made VMA spin “The Way” and “Baby I,” two songs off her September 3 debut album, Yours Truly. DJing duo Nervo will serve as the guest DJs on the red carpet (kicking off at 8 p.m. ET/PT) before the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards go live.

“I guess I just I’m gonna run it a bunch of times and try figure out what I’m wearing,” she said, describing the mash-up as “new and exciting.” “I definitely want to arrange it. I want to help arrange the mash-up. I’m looking forward to it. It should be fun.”

So, what might she wear? “I don’t know. I usually wear a variation of the same thing for like my whole life. No snakes,” she joked, referring to Britney Spears’ epic “Slave 4 U” VMA performance from 2001. “I’m like the least risky person you’ve ever met; I just want to sing to be honest. I’ll just put on a dress and sing.”

Grande joins an illustrious list of previous pre-show performers who include Demi Lovato, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. “It doesn’t make sense in my head quite yet,” she said of her appearance on the show. “I’m super excited and honored and I hope to put on great show for you guys.”

Once the pre-show wraps up, Grande will get the chance to see the main show. And she’s pretty stocked for this year’s lineup. “I’m so excited to see Katy [Perry]. I love her new single so much. ‘Roar’ is everything. I love it. It came out and I did not stop playing it on repeat. So I’m very excited to see Katy,” she said. “[Lady Gaga,] you know she’s gonna come out with something insane. Justin Timberlake sounds dope already.”

While only time will tell where those performances rank on the scale of great VMA performances, Grande still can’t forget her favorite moments in VMA history. “I just said this before ‘Slave 4 U,’ that was such an epic moment. Just like ‘Why [did she have a snake]?’ But, of course!” she said, before switching up her favorite moment to one that took place in 2003, featuring the three-way kiss with Britney, Madonna and Christina Aguilera.

“Then that was the best moment,” she said. “That was awesome! I was super young, but I was like ‘What?’ I was very like ‘Does this happen in music?’ I would sing with [Britney], absolutely. I’m very all about the music. I don’t know about that.”
