Following highschool graduation in 1970, Harmon spent his 1st 2 years of school at Pierce school in la.[2] once gaining his associate’s degree, he transferred to the University of Calif., la, and was the beginning quarterback for the UCLA Bruins team in 1972 and 1973. In his 1st game for UCLA in 1972, he built a surprising upset of the wander defensive national champion, NE Cornhuskers.The Bruins were Associate in Nursing 18-point failure to the top-ranked Huskers, however won 20-17 with a late field goal below the lights in la.As a senior, Harmon received the National soccer Foundation Award for all-around Excellence in 1973. In his 2 years as quarterback in coach Pepper Rodgers’ furcula offense, UCLA compiled a 17–5 record (.773). Harmon graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Communication worthy in 1974.
